flyguide for crew is an app offering a unique feature to view detailed satellite imagery of the surrounding areas during flights. The application functions offline and is comparable to a GPS system in a car, providing accurate GPS tracking for a moving map display. It identifies various geographical features such as mountains, lakes, cities, rivers, and towns. The crew version of flyguide also includes an extensive database of aviation fixes and navaids.
A recent update has added new features including the display of Altitude, Groundspeed, Heading, ETA, and Distance to destination. Key features of flyguide for crew are:

Please note that this app is not intended for navigation use. It is advisable to have an iPad with Wi-Fi+Cellular capability to enable GPS tracking while airborne. Signal strength may affect GPS tracking performance, with optimal reception achieved from a window seat and through the device's GPS antenna. Most airlines permit the use of personal GPS devices; however, checking individual airline policies is recommended.
